Nexus people are currently recruiting for HGV drivers in the CM19 area of Harlow. We are looking for someone who can be flexible with their start and finish times, and who has experience driving an HGV Class 2 vehicle.

Working for one of the UK’s leading DIY & Home Improvement companies, you will be driving a Class 2 vehicle and the role will involve the usual vehicle checks and paper work as well as driving a Class 2 vehicle. There will be some manual handling involved and we are looking for HGV drivers with a variety of experience who can slot straight in to this amazing opportunity.

There are a variety of different shift times available, however we are particularly interested in people who can commit to 6am start times.

Now for the legal bits.

We appreciate that it has taken a lot of hard work for you to get your Class 2 licence, and that driving an HGV isn`t easy. To make sure you are eligible to drive one of our HGV`s, there are some important criteria you must meet first.

You should hold a full UK Class 2 HGV Licence
You need to have a minimum of 2 years` experience in driving a Class 2 HGV commercially
We need you to have driven commercially for at least 90 days in the last 180, and these must be tachograph recorded
Whilst we will accept up to 6 points on your driving licence, there must be no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements
You must have a Digi Tachograph Card and have a good understanding of the Working Time Regulations
You will need your DCPC Card

Training: You will receive 4 weeks of fully paid training to ensure that you are absolutely happy and content before you are placed on a route of your own. Start times and Working Days: 06.00am on a Monday to Friday basis.

The Role: You will be delivering up to 8 deliveries a day into concert venues, pubs/bars, restaurants, petrol stations and schools. Your Class 2 vehicle will be separated into two separate compartments, chilled and frozen. Your vehicle will be fully loaded for you but you will be responsible for unloading it at your delivery destinations (cages/sack barrow/tail lift)

The Salary: £13.00 per hour with multiple and regular bonuses on offer throughout the year (average shift length = 11 hours)

Ensure accurate communication is maintained with to minimise time delays in getting a vehicle allocated to sale.
To proactively manage the development and performance of all team members, ensuring that all mandatory HSE requirements are fulfilled and all team members are trained and developed to maximise performance, taking appropriate action where standards are not met.
To ensure the smooth, safe and uninterrupted flow of sale vehicles through all auctions in lot number. Considering pre-sale, sale and post-sale logistics of the site.
To make sure that the yard is presentable so that it meets HSE requirements and gives a good impression to customers.

Candidates must be able to show previous experience of working within HSE legislation and within SLA and KPI requirements. You must have a proven track record of managing small to medium teams and have excellent IT skills with such programs as Word and Excel.

You will have strong people management skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels whilst always delivering excellent customer service.

· To ensure that the delivery vehicles are maintained at all times to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
· Ensuring that the vehicles are driven safely and well presented and all procedures and legal regulations are adhered to e.g. FTA regulations
· Maintaining integrity and ownership when handling packages, to make certain product is securely delivered to the correct address.
· Completing assigned deliveries within time allocated on the designated route. Initiative, knowledge and skill should be used to anticipate and resolve any day to day issues.
· Ensuring scanning compliance at all times with the accurate use of the hand held terminals
· Accurate completion of all relevant paperwork
· Ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with appropriate security and Health and Safety legislation and policies.

HGV Class 2 Driver



For this role YOU will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of Bicester

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Earn from £10.80 (PAYE) £15.75 (LTD) per hour


Rapier Employment are currently seeking HGV 2 drivers for multi-drop deliveries thoughout the Southern counties and London doing up to 15 deliveries per shift. These will involve handball delivery to kitchens and cellars.

You will be required to lift and carry food stuffs into premises, sometimes at night and on occasions up and down stairs.

You will be taken photos of deliveries for evidence that they have been made and completing correct paperwork.

You may be allocated a Drivers Mate depending on the size and weight of the deliveries
