Role: Fitter – Electrical Workshop
As part of our Aerospace & Defense Division, we are one of the largest independent aircraft component repair and over haul facilities in Europe.
Due to the further expansion of our Workshops we now have a full-time vacancy for a mechanical/electrical fitter to repair / overhaul a large and varied range of aviation equipment, including DC Starter Generators, AC Generators, Motors, Actuators and Constant Speed.
Drive (CSD) / Integrated Drive Generators (IDG).
Main Tasks:
* Overhaul and repair of generators, gearboxes and motors and their associated sub-assemblies; to include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, fault finding and repair.
* Operate a variety of test equipment to include bore gauges, verniers, micrometers, digital multimeters, hi pot testers, presses and soldering irons.
Qualifications:
* ONC / HNC Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
* Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience of IDG’s / CSD’s, overhauling gear boxes / generators / motors / preferred.
Aerospace background ideal.
Previous lapping and honing experience essential.
Practical working experience of pistons and piston blocks, wobblers, governors and pumps
Ability to interpret and follow in detail compliance manuals.
An ability to work to tight deadlines is essential, whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Working within a small team of skilled technicians, reliability, flexibility and team work are key skill requirements within this highly successful department.

THE ROLE: You will be responsible for carrying out service and remedial work on control panels, electric motors and actuators. In addition, you will be required to carry out electrical fault finding. Work schedules are arranged by management and sent out in advance for the following weeks work. This is a field service position working on ventilation systems in the commercial sector. Most of the work is carried out during the day between 8-5 however some night work may be required (6pm-2am).

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will come from a ventilation background ideally within a field service environment. You should be electrically biased with basic mechanical knowledge/experience. You must have a driving licence and have experience single and 3 phase systems. To be successful in this role you should have some experience with control panels, motors, actuators and invertors. My client is open to looking at people from a variety of industries including ventilation, extractor fans, door controls, powered windows or a production maintenance background.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Electrical Technician will investigate and carry out breakdown repairs and routine maintenance in all areas of the plant. Ensuring plant and machinery across the site are available and reliable by proactively seeking to reduce plant downtime.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer Design Engineer to join a 500 strong, global multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in London. You will enjoy the opportunity to work on projects from inception to final installation inspection, testing and commissioning and final handover.

Reporting to a Director you will be expected to design, manage and deliver your own projects, attend and contribute to client meetings and also provide guidance and mentoring to the less experienced Electrical Engineers.
