Desktop Engineer – Installations

A Desktop Engineer is now required to join a leading IT Services and Solutions organisation. Working in their planned services team the successful candidate will have strong customer service skills as you will be part of a team providing first class technical IT support to their customers.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a total commitment to IT and the ambition to develop personally. You will also have the drive to self-study and learn new technologies in your own time, and will be offered training and support from the company and their internal trainer.

The role is to support the organising, planning and installation of IT hardware which will involve visiting customer sites and setting-up or configuring existing hardware.

Desktop Engineer Key Responsibilities

– Experience of desktop installations

– Working within a customer facing environment

– Ability to investigate, diagnose and troubleshoot installation related issues

– Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, and installation of drivers

– Follow processes and manage paperwork

– Manage the provision and installation of the services required to deliver the solution to our customers

– Maintain a technical skill set to meet changing technologies within our customer base and general IT practices

AV Installations Engineer

AV Installations Engineer

Our client is looking for an AV Installations Engineer with 2-3 years’ experience to join their team and carry out the installation of high-end audio visual and home automation systems. You should be enthusiastic and have good self-motivation, as this is a predominantly field based role and you will be expected to represent the company, trouble shoot and help assist others members of the team when required. The company specialises in luxury residential, high-end corporate and Superyachts; so you need to be well presented, adaptable and highly knowledgeable.

What you will be doing:

* On site installation of AV equipment, 1st and 2nd fix AV installations
* Working independently and as part of a small team, under the instruction of Project Managers
* Working with Project Management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the clients
* Site surveys / audits and H&S checks
* Assisting Project Management with managing, monitoring and controlling on site issues with reference to project budgets
* Ensuring the correct and safe installation of the equipment required and be aware of the financial impacts of on-site changes.
* Ensureing changes are documented and communicated daily to the Project Manager for resolution.

What you will need:

* Good practical skills and an understanding of construction techniques in a residential, commercial and marine environment to include working with power tools and SDS
* A service attitude that exceeds expectation
* Good understanding of 1st and 2nd fix AV installations
* Excellent soldering, crimp and terminating skills
* Ability to work from schematics, terminating sheets, site plans and projector drawings
* Experience and understanding of control systems, AMX/Crestron
* Experience and understanding of Video Conferencing systems
* Configuration and commissioning experience of basic networking equipment, including routers, switches and access points
* Experience of CCTV, gate and door access systems
* Aerial & Satellite installations and distribution
* Ability to build and connect AV racks in a neat, efficient and professional manner

Desirable but not essential:

* CEDIA EST Certified
* Full UK driving licence
* CSCS Health and Safety
* Basic control system programming skills (changing of IR drivers, RS232 drivers, graphical changes)
* Experience of AV Installations in the Marine / Superyacht Industry
