OVERVIEW

The role of the Goods Inwards operative is to ensure that all inbound Goods are received and processed into the business in a safe, timely and efficient manner. The role is executed across several tasks and operatives are expected to be able (with training) to be able to execute the full range of tasks.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Loading and unloading of vehicles in a busy Goods In department.
Receipt and inspection of goods received – checking for damages, checking quality and quantity of goods received against our purchase order and the suppliers delivery note.
Book onto the system using hand Help Terminals to confirm receipt
Labelling of stock ready for put away
Handling goods received in a methodical way.
Put goods away to picking or pallet locations or transfer to boxing or subcontract operations.
Confirm receipt of any documentation accompanying the delivery e.g. material cert, test cert. etc.
Repackaging of bulk product into smaller quantities to comply with any company specific requirements.
Continually check for damaged or unsuitable packaging and report unsuitable goods as necessary.
Keeping a clear & tidy Goods In area.
Report discrepancies noted when processing inbound materials
An understanding of basic Health & Safety procedures
In addition, once qualified on warehouse Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE)

Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
Loading of goods onto nominated carrier transport using MHE
Processing of Inbound Stock using MHE

A Counterbalance licence is required for this position refreshed within the last 5 years.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08:00 16:00 35 hours per week

Pay Rate: Starting Salary of £14,512 rising to £15,022 after 6 months and to £15,247 after 12 months.

An attendance allowance is also available starting at £16 per week rising to £27 per week

To perform a variety of operational functions that constitutes the production, assembly, inspection and material handling of SFL products

Looking for an opportunity with long term prospects and full training provided?

A medium sized company with over 100 employees is looking for individuals with a can-do attitude to work within their dairy division, based in Crewkerne, Somerset.

Full training will be provided. Main duties include running dairy machinery, loading and unloading tankers, CIP operations, forklift driving and keeping a high level of hygiene within your work station.

This is a full time, temporary opportunity with the view to becoming permanent for the right candidate.

This role currently has night shifts available, the hourly rate begins at £7.80 moving up to £10.00 after 12 full weeks. The role offers 28 days holiday per annum, excellent overtime rates and an incentive for good attendance!

Our client is Part of a UK depot operation, the candidate will be involved with core inbound and outbound activities of the business; both in terms of the physical handling of the stock as well as the updating of records on the system. Help with planograph, cycle-count and other general warehouse activities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Inbound activities:

* Unloading of deliveries
* Subsequent receipt, checking and put away of new stock
* Ensuring accuracy of quantity, location and ease / safety of future picking

Outbound activities:

* Picking, packing and shipping of parts ordered
* Ensuring picking and sorting accuracy, with high productivity and shipping on time
* Stock control in the form of cycle count, planograph and warehouse space utilization will also be aspects of the role
* Operate responsibly with regards to the health & safety of themselves and others on site
* Operate in accordance to company policy and procedure in all areas.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

* Ability to work with tight deadlines and under pressure
* Ability to work with light supervision
* Good communication skills, written, verbal and graphical.
* Computer literate, with the knowledge of, or willingness to learn the Warehouse Operating System (training provided)
