One of the leading global FMCG company are looking to develop their company further by hiring x2 experienced Transport Assistants to work along side the sites Transport Manager.

Shifts: 4 on 4 off (either day shift or night shift 12 hours)

Job Overview:

As a Transport Assistant, you will be assisting your manager by ensuring the operation of the Transport Office runs smoothly. You will be compiling and maintaining documentation and managing the informationprovided. Liaising and ensuring the drivers depart on time as well as processing vital information, issuing journey details and booking staff on and off shift, this is a role as challenging as it is demanding however very rewarding and plenty of room for progression.

Responsibilities include:

* Brief and debrief the drivers on both departure and return from each journey
* To effectively communicate via telephone with customers and Depots, ensuring incoming calls are answered and dealt with promptly
* To assist the management team in providing a professional service
* To work well within the transport team function to ensure deadlines are met
* Generate driver journey sheets from in-house computer systems and issue to drivers
* Produce Reports, such as missing volume, debrief status and unconfirmed orders
* Collate weekly information for Transport auditing purposes

We are currently recruiting for Parcel sorters for our well known client in Chelmsford. This would be starting in March 2017 and on a ongoing Temp basis.
The warehouse is a fast paced and busy environment with health and safety being paramount. Previous experience is preferred but not essential.
The client requires a full background check including a 5 year employment history with evidence for the reasons of gaps in employment and references for the full 5 years. They also require a full DBS police check to be performed.
The duties included in this position include but are not limited to the following:

DUTIES

Execute timely repair to any machine returned to the workshop by Customer or Engineer
Maintain workshop area to a high standard of cleanliness
Test Machines and supply reports on the machine repair to the Service Manager, if required
Liaise with Help Desk Customers about the repair when required
Warehouse

Cover for Warehouse personnel, issue stock, as required, load and unload deliveries

Update stock data base to down date any parts used for any repair
Technical Help

Provide technical training for engineers/customers
Importation of product from supplier

Help with import of product when required
Pre-delivery inspection

Prepare and set up any new machines before delivery to the customer specification
