My client, a private consultancy based in Hammersmith, are looking for a Generic Building Surveyor to join their team to cover a current vacancy. The vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months with the potential for extension depending on internal circumstances and performance.

Duties for the Generic Building Surveyor include but are not restricted to:

* Site Inspections of Buildings listed within the consultancy remit
* Handle and deal with complaints as they arise in a professional manner
* Undertake post inspections of completed works assessing quality and value for money using the schedule of rates
* Generic field work

Minimum Requirements:

* Experience of working in a variety of surveying vicinities.
* At least 2 years’ experience as a Generic Building Surveyor within the Building and Construction industry.
* Building Control related degree or equivalent.

Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure – Consultancy

This position would suit a Quantity Surveyor looking to join an organisation with an international outlook, an enviable list of clients and projects, and which supports continuous professional development. As an Associate Building Surveyor with this building consultancy, you’ll quickly establish yourself as a leader within the building surveying team where you’ll provide clear direction and vision to grow the business and its client base. Assistant Quantity Surveyor

My client is a leading main contractor within the Utility & Civil Engineering sector.

Currently looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor based at their Liphook offices.

The Role:
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will provide advice and report on and control all commercial and financial aspects of projects and contracts.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist the Quantity Surveyor in providing commercial expertise for projects to maximise returns by working within robust procedures to support the Commercial Manager and Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage resources
Produce and send enquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender and engagement with supply chain
Receive and analyse quotations, liaising with Contracts Managers and Site Agents regarding price, proven history, availability etc.
Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful subcontractors in a timely manner Produce and process formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments and final subcontract account
Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes
Produce cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes
Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts e.g. interim/final applications for payment/final accounts/payments for late monies etc. liaising where necessary with the relevant people e.g. engineers, clients etc.
Produce relevant monthly reports for the Commercial Manager e.g. cost and value comparisons, turnover forecasts etc. ensuring information is complete and accurate.

Manage information
Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with the client engineers and subcontractors as required
Provide advice and support to the site team in order to optimise the use of contract resources
