Based in Staverton, the vacancies are for a telecommunications organisation, supplying world-wide equipment and solutions to a military, government, transport and utility client base.

Main duties of the job

* A sound understanding, desire and ability to fault find in –

* Layer 2 – layer 4 (inc MPLS & MPLS-TP)
* 2G, 3G, 4G cellular technology
* Wi-Fi

* Sound knowledge in IP/MPLS
* Interest in new technologies i.e. multitech etc
* 24/7 client cover, one week on, three weeks off

Experience and skills required

* Relevant experience within the telecommunications industry
* Interest and ability to learn new communication technologies
* Customer contact, via in house, or on site
* Qualified telecommunications relevant HNC equivalent
* Security cleared

You will have experience in a technical environment having worked on motor vehicles previously and have experience in a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician or Assistant Manager within a workshop environment.

The role of a Technical Assistant is to work alongside the Technical Manager assisting to implement the Food Safety, Quality and Hygiene systems across the production site.

Job Title: Technical Services Technician

Location: Lymington

Salary: Circa £17,000 p/a

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Services Technician for a small, friendly well established manufacturing company in the New Forest.


To support new product enquiries received, by specifying new items in terms of bills of materials (BOMS) and likely run rates, and ensuring that these are set up on the operations computer system (the IJF system).


* Producing BOMS for basic IJFs, then setting up items on computer system and generating costs for quotations
* Maintenance of production narratives
* Administration and storage of works orders
* Carry out comparative testing on competitor products, and maintain a database of test results
* Assist on development projects, including making and testing laboratory mixes
* Line auditing of Mixing and Extrusion processes
* Provide technical support to production and quality as required. This could be immediate trouble-shooting of issues, or an agreed project of improvement over longer periods of time
* Evaluation of alternative materials as required, these being either for potential cost savings, or where materials are no longer available
* Provide testing support to Technical Services and Quality in evaluation of products for applications, or products under complaint


* Good IT skills (particularly Excel and Word)
* Excellent communication skills
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
* A level or equivalent in a Science
* Able to work on own initiative
* Able to work under pressure

The role: Senior Engineer, Technical Department

The role is varied but it is usually 50/50 office/site based. There is a lot of project management involved in the role and you must have the ability to drive a project forward. You will be working as part of a team of three and will report to the Engineering Manager.

You will personally be responsible for roughly 5 live sites at any time, and the projects you handle can be in the multi-million pound range. Projects range from 50-1000 units. You will travel to sites around Bristol.

It’s a cradle to grave role – providing engineering support at all stages of the development process, from initial viability advice to full design packages, gaining technical consents and providing advice to all other departments and selected contractors during construction. You will manage consultants in road, sewer, levels, cut and fill designs, to satisfy planning whilst maintaining the most competitive and practical solution. You will ensure all engineering drawings and details are available and checked, in advance of start on site including foundations, sub-structure, highways, sewerage, utilities and any remediation proposals. You will procure technical approval for highways / sewerage/ land drainage /utilities

My client is looking for an engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, ideally at a developer but road/sewers/civils experience will be seriously considered. The pay will reflect your experience and my client is keen to speak to anyone who can join the team of engineers who pride themselves on quality.

A high level of proficiency in AutoCad / PDS / Windes / Microdrainage is preferred.
